A family practice for family hearing.
Since 1998. Twenty-eight years of hearing tests, hearing aids, and honest conversations in Ambawadi, Ahmedabad.
Millions of people of all ages suffer from hearing loss. It's a physical problem, not a mental one, but the quality of life suffers quickly when hearing impairment is left untreated. That has been our starting belief for nearly thirty years.
Good hearing is key to understanding your world. This is especially true within the family, at work, with friends, and for the many small social moments that string a life together. When hearing starts to slip, conversations with loved ones, meetings, phone calls, and watching TV all become a quiet strain. We understand how reassuring it is to be able to hear the doorbell, a baby crying, or the rustle of leaves in a breeze.
Rahi Hear & Care is one of Ahmedabad's longest-running providers of digital and multi-digital hearing aids. Our office is in the heart of Ambawadi. Since 1998, more than 4,500 clients have trusted us with their hearing care, and many have sent their parents, in-laws, and children to us too. That's the quiet compliment we're most proud of.
We don't rush trials. We don't upsell features that won't help. And we don't treat hearing aids as a one-time sale. We see you back for fittings, re-programming, and check-ins as long as you wear the device.

Smita Shah
“Most people don't come in when they first notice their hearing slipping. They come in when their family insists. My job starts with listening, long before I ask them to listen.”
Smita ji runs the clinic day-to-day. She conducts every hearing test, fits every device, and sees each patient back for follow-ups for as long as they wear the aid. The practice has grown slowly, by word of mouth across Gujarat, because that's how she prefers it.
From first visit to fitted aid.
Most patients walk out with a clear plan after one unhurried hour. Here's what to expect.
- 1.
Counsel
A calm conversation. No tests yet, just your story.
- 2.
Audiometry
20-minute hearing test in a quiet sound booth.
- 3.
Recommend
Honest options, including "you don't need one yet."
- 4.
Trial
Take the aid home for 3–5 days. Live with it.
- 5.
Fit & follow-up
Fine-tune the fit, programme settings. Come back often.
Four quiet commitments.
No one buys on the first visit.
Every recommendation starts with a trial. You (or your parent) wear the device for several days, use it in real life, and come back with real feedback. Only then do we talk about buying.
The aid is the start, not the end.
A hearing aid that isn't re-fit and re-programmed every few months is a hearing aid that stops being worn. Follow-up visits are included for the life of the device. Come as often as you need.
Family first, feature list second.
We'd rather recommend a basic device that gets worn daily than a premium device that sits in a drawer. The question is never "what's the best aid?" It's "what's the best aid for this person?"
Honesty about what a hearing aid can't do.
No device restores perfect hearing. We set clear expectations, help families understand what to hope for, and keep adjusting until real life is easier, not until a brochure's features are ticked.
